Guitar style linked to players such as Jimmy Page.
The wild doubleneck version of the SG, initially introduced as a semi-hollowbody in 1958 but by 1968 in approximately this configuration. Heritage Cherry, solid double-cutaway mahogany body, 2 21-fret maple necks, the upper with 12 strings and the lower with 6, rosewood fingerboards with ES-345-style split parallelogram inlays. Nice matched pairs of 490R and 498T humbucking pickups for each neck, 3-ply black guard(s), 2 volume and two tone controls, 3-way pickup selector and 3-way neck selector (letting the 12-string resonate sympathetically while playing the 6 is a lot of fun). Jimmy Page and Alex Lifeson have been the most visible users of these over the years, Page's cherry EDS-1275 being among the most iconic guitars in the history of rock. Made by Gibson's Custom, Art, and Historic division in Memphis, Tennessee, USA.
