Gibson Custom Shop Byrdland Florentine

Guitar style linked to players such as Ted Nugent.

This Gibson Custom Shop Byrdland Florentine guitar was built on December 20th, 2010. It comes with a pair of Classic '57 pickups, carved Spruce top with Flamed Maple back and sides. The neck is a three-piece, made of Maple/Walnut/Maple and, of course, the fingerboard is Ebony. The bridge is a floating ABR-1 with an Ebony base. The nut is 1 11/16" wide and this is worth noting as many of the earlier Byrdlands had a thin 1 5/8" nut. As with all Byrdlands, the body is a full 17" wide at the lower bout and the scale length is 23.5". This makes for a very "fast" guitar that also allows for playing more extended or complicated Jazz Chords much easier that it would be on a guitar with a longer scale. The fingerboard radius is 12" and the neck profile is that of a modern ES series - a "Medium C" shaped neck.

The Maple on the back of the guitar and neck is absolutely gorgeous. The finish on the guitar is absolutely stunning. In addition, the action is smooth, low and fast and the guitar plays like a dream.
