Guitar style linked to players such as Lita Ford.
Master luthier Neal Moser had been an integral part of B.C. Rich Guitar’s history. He was there during the brand’s rise to world wide recognition; he was there when B.C. Rich became practically synonymous with hard rock and heavy metal. During those years Neal designed the notorious “B.I.C.H.” shape you have seen in the hands of Dave Mustaine, Lita Ford, Joe Perry, and Neil Giraldo among many other great artists. Neal designed electronics were always sought after and his craftsmanship is nothing short of legendary. This purple sparkle Neal Moser built B.C. Rich USA Custom guitar was built in his Arizona workshop in 2024.
The Rich Bich from B.C. Rich faithfully re-creates Neal Moser’s obsessive homage to tone, complete with the exacting detail of premium Custom Shop perks. This USA-made masterpiece is handcrafted and loaded with all the original’s winning features: energizing neck-through access to all 24 frets, two supercharged DiMarzio humbuckers, a Kahler Quad hardtail bridge, an endless cache of tone-shaping doodads, and the original electronics system as designed by Neal Moser.
Fine cuts of high-grade mahogany make up the Rich Bich’s body and neck. Mahogany is the de facto tonewood for rock tone that’s hearty, assertive, and infinitely flexible. Get ready for thick midrange, heaving bass, and trebles that soar - a winning recipe for home run riffs on any stage. A firm grip is a must for knocking notes out of the park, and the Rich Bich gives players only the best with a “C”-shaped neck carve designed for modern comfort and a 20-inch radius for fast fretting across the flat, open field of a sleek ebony fingerboard. Finally, the fingerboard’s frets are carefully adorned with premium inlays for an incredible look.
Two onboard DiMarzio humbuckers summon the best of both worlds: Super Distortion firepower in the bridge position paired with a warm, responsive PAF in the neck. Players like to think of a Super Distortion and a PAF as the ultimate humbucker pair. You get all the harmonic detail of a high-output bridge pickup, while the neck PAF offers an articulate alternative for leads and cleans. Factor in the original Rich Bich’s circuitry as designed by Neal Moser, and you’re ready to turn out tones fit for an arena.
The Rich Bich furnishes enough tone-tweaking options for a lifetime of play. Volume controls, master tone, and a 3-way pickup toggle provide the essentials, but then the Rich Bich spreads its wings and jets off toward tonal opulence. An adjustable boost circuit lets you juice any pickup’s output in the blink of an eye. A reverse phase mini-switch lets you add funky articulation to clean tones and shaky depth to driven sounds. Varitone circuitry, a notch-style filter with six positions, offers potent flavors of sound shaping that have been many a famous player’s secret weapon since Varitone’s introduction in 1959. Each Varitone voice skims off frequencies below the selected notch for radically modified tone and progressively less lows and mids the higher the notch.
