Ego Decimation Profile is another Michael Harris instrumental shred-fest (similar to 1991's "Defense Mechanizms"), with mini-symphonies, classical metal and progressive tunes, among others. "Hair On The E String" features a twisted melody in Lydian mode and tight starts and stops, while "Terminus Epic", Harris' favorite track, features a short, "all harmonic" solo break. Ego Decimation Profile also features stellar drumming from Keith Carlock of Steely Dan on 3 tunes.
