The Clearing

Dan Lambert
Sold through Guitar Nine thru 2012

The Clearing is an enchanting blend of Celtic, folk, jazz, rock, blues and world in a collection of fourteen acoustic guitar pieces written and performed by fingerstylist Dan Lambert. The effect that Lambert's travels in the British Isles have had on his playing is beautifully apparent in this set of tunes. From the propulsive charge of "Into The Mist" to the soft lilt of "Melody For The End Of The Day", the melodies soar. The Clearing is both a journey and a bridge at the same time as Lambert weaves the melodies of the Old World with the rhythms of the New World. The tune "Rails Across The Atlantic", both in title and music, is the essence of this meeting. James Sallis writes in his book "The Guitar In Jazz", "And of course, it's just such synthesis that goes to make a strong personal style. Dan Lambert's playing is highly individualistic - sometimes relaxed and in a groove, often full of stabbing odd turns - and immediately recognizable."

Dan Lambert is in the musicians directory — hear them on Apple Music.
