The Clearing is an enchanting blend of Celtic, folk, jazz, rock, blues and world in a collection of fourteen acoustic guitar pieces written and performed by fingerstylist Dan Lambert. The effect that Lambert's travels in the British Isles have had on his playing is beautifully apparent in this set of tunes. The Clearing is both a journey and a bridge at the same time as Lambert weaves the melodies of the Old World with the rhythms of the New World. The tune "Rails Across The Atlantic", both in title and music, is the essence of this meeting.
