Total Control
The Story
The first solo album from John Norum, guitarist in the Swedish hard rock band Europe, is entitled "Total Control" and features 11 songs including "Let Me Love You", "Too Many Hearts", and the bonus track "Wild One". The album, released in 1987, is much harder than anything Europe released, with Norum's blistering, fleet-fingered soloing getting tons of air space. You will be cranking your speaker system to 11 as you air guitar through these hard rock numbers. "Total Control" holds up well after over 20 years, albeit musically, even if you've figured out that perhaps "Love Is Meant To Last Forever" is not to be taken quite literally. Michael Schenker Group and Gary Moore fans take note.
