Guitar Nine's April-May Edition - Thursday, April 1, 2021 - 10:50 AM

The April-May edition is now online!

This edition's guest columnists are writing on topics such as inversion chords, fingerpicking patterns and Phrygian dominant patterns. We've got eight contributed articles altogether - seven written by past contributing columnists, and one by a new contributor.

Mike Campese is back with another technique column entitled "Phrygian Dominant Shred Patterns". Joining us for the first time is Carlos Trejo with his article "Creating The Perfect Home Studio For Beginners". Returning with a fingerstyle-oriented column is Simon Candy with "How To Transform Fingerpicking Patterns Into Incredible Sounding Music". Finally, prolific columnist and guitarist Tommaso Zillio contributes another triple shot of columnar expresso: "Chord Progressions From Film Music For Guitar Players", "How To Play First Inversion Chords On Your Guitar" and "Techniques To Reduce Tension When Playing Guitar". Dan Peeke is also back with his column "Can You Play An Electric Guitar Without An Amp?". Finally, returning with another "Influences" column is Dan McAvinchey with "Influences: Phil Collen".

Also, please reread and enjoy a classic column from the Guitar Nine archives, Dan McAvinchey's "Finishing The Job".

Our new series is entitled "Guitar Nine Focus", which gathers excellent columns written within a chosen area of focus. This time, the spotlight is on scales.
