The Story
Friend of the stars and a guitarist whose style is instantly recognizable, Carlos Santana manages to incorporate an impressively large array of genre sounds into his playing. Funk, soul, rock, and jazz are just a few of the elements that make up the glorious Santana sound, which translates into some sublime listening experiences for his fans. Here, Carlos performs with a variety of special guests for a career-spanning set on A&E's "Live By Request". The show, recorded on October 18, 2002, featured special guests Rob Thomas and Michelle Branch who each replicated their original vocals for the songs "Smooth" and "Game Of Love". Santana played tracks from his last two albums "Supernatural" and "Shaman" as well as classics like "Black Magic Woman", "Evil Ways" and "Soul Sacrifice".
