Life Experience Drives Smooth Jazz Release

Robert Chini's current CD World Without Tears is a collection of six smooth jazz and new age instrumentals blended with six vocal numbers. Spending almost two years recording the CD, Chini's determination to see his vision through results in a release which sends a clear message of hope and
draws on Chini's own personal life's experiences for it's lyrical content and overall vibe. "Gabrielle's Lullabye" and "Tranquil Moon" feature the contributions of new age artist David Arkenstone of Windham Hill. Chini's guitar work is song-oriented throughout--he focuses on melody and beautiful tone on every song, which perfectly suits the character of the CD. World Without Tears will do well for Chini as he uses it as a springboard into even more new projects.

A Southern California native, Robert started playing drums at the age of five. Influenced by jazz and R&B, he later learned to play guitar, bass and keyboards. He started the groupsHeat Treatment and In The Mood, the latter with former Iron Butterfly guitarist Bobby Hasbrook. Robert also played bass in the popular '80s group, England Dan and John Ford Coley. His writing partners have included Dean Pitchford (Fame), Peter Schless, Bob Gundry and Parker McGhee. Robert has written for several commercials, one of which won him and Academy Award for Best Musical Composition.

Chini plans a tour in 1999 to support the release of World Without Tears, and he is scheduled to play on the next live Windham Hill release of David Arkenstone's which will be filmed live on the A&E channel. He also plans a new CD for the year 2000.
