The Story
Guitarist MIchael Hedges explores the mystical side of his personality on "Taproot" - an autobiographical myth told in music. All instrumental, except for the final cut, "I Carry Your Heart" (which features Hedges on lead vocals and David Crosby and Graham Nash on harmony), Hedges delivers an amazing polyphony of sound from his numerous guitars, including the TransTrem guitar, the savage myth guitar and even a guitar synthesizer, at times. Soft and soothing, but with the Hedges 'edge', "Taproot" may be one of his most accessible CDs, with highlights including "The Rootwhich", "Ritual Dance" and "The First Cutting".
