Michael Hedges
Oracle
The Story
An almost purely instrumental recording, "Oracle" finds Michael Hedges returning to what he is best at - and many consider this CD to be one of his finest all-around albums. You'll find awesome fingerstyle work on "Baal T'shuvah", incredible expressiveness on "The Second Law", infectious percussiveness on "Ignition", and simple beauty on "Gospel". Hedges also includes a pair of cover tracks, Frank Zappa's "Sofa No. 1" and Henry Mancini's "Theme from Hatari!". Produced and co-engineered by Hedges, "Oracle" won a Grammy award in 1998 for Best New Age Album.
