The Guitar Trio
The Story
"The Guitar Trio" features the three great acoustical guitarists (Paco DeLucia, Al DiMeola and John McLauglin) playing on compositions by all three musicians, and each taking a turn at arrangement and production. "The Guitar Trio" was recorded in England in May, June and July of 1996 (which was almost sixteen years since the trio's dazzling "Friday Night In San Francsico"), and includes Di Meola's "Azzura" and McLaughlin's "Letter From India." The CD features Middle Eastern, Brazilian, Spanish flamenco and Northern Indian influences, all brought into the mix by one or more of these virtuosi. Still passionate and technical astonishing after all these years.
