Gary Hoey
Hocus Pocus Live
The Story
"Hocus Pocus Live" captures the fleet fingered Hoey live in concert in San Diego in 1997, performing his original instrumentals, plus a few covers he has "Hoey-ized", including "Wipeout", "Hocus Pocus", "Linus And Lucy", and Hendrix' "Red House" - the lone vocal number. The CD also features two bonus tracks "Tele Like It Is" and "Hocus Pocus (Insanity Mix)". Hoey has certainly gotten a lot of mileage out of the old Jan Akkerman/Focus tune, maybe it's time to explore 'abracadabra' or 'shazam'. An authenic portrait of Hoey's live show, if you can't make the gigs, pick up this CD.
