The Premiere Black Cowboy Band

Mike Mann Presents... Cowboy Soul is the debut CD-R released by Mike Mann, who fronts "America's Premiere Black Cowboy Band," namely, Cowboy Soul. Mann is the vocalist, and also contributes acoustic guitar and harmonica, while Mark Drummond, who also produced six tracks, provides the primary guitar tracks. The group has many influences in their music, from rock to blues, R&B to jazz, and, of course, country to soul. Drummond delivers his leads in a tasty style, easy to digest, and always well suited to the song at hand. Cowboy Soul recently won "Best Blues Band" at the All Access Music Awards, so this is a multi-genre band whose star is rising.

Mark Drummond is a Chicago-born, Mississippi-raised, Southern California-based guitarist and producer with a funky but soulful approach to smooth jazz and R&B. His recently completed CD is "Six Strings, One Love". Mark currently performs as a sideman with Southern California R&B and smooth jazz groups. As a producer he's overseen releases for African musicians Tony Tetuila, KC Presh, and Tuface Idibia, who enjoyed one Nigeria's biggest hits, "African Queen" (Mark on rhythm guitar), featured on "Phat Girls" motion picture soundtrack. Mark also appears on contemporary gospel artist Donna McAfee's "So Blessed" CD and video to the single "I Will". With songwriting partner Aljay Boyd, he composed and produced the soundtrack for Soleil Films' "Bringing Up Baybay".

Los Angeles-based Cowboy Soul (formerly Mike Mann and the Nightriders), are currently riding a wave of popularity; both in the City of Angels and everywhere else they perform.
