Bass Extremes: Cookbook
The Story
On "Bass Extremes: Cookbook", Victor Wooten and Steve Bailey spearhead a veritable bass invitational with special guests Oteil Burbridge, Will Lee, Gregg Bissonette, Kenny Aranoff, and more. The twelve tracks (one vocal, "Bassically Yours" performed by Will Lee) are heavily dominated by the low end, as 6 string basses are employed as melodic elements (Wooten actually hits the melodies just fine using a standard 4 string fretted bass). "Bass Extremes: Cookbook" is a great concept album for those who like to see the bass guitar brought forward into the spotlight.
