Guitar Noir is an album heavily steeped in the instrumental progressive rock/fusion jazz tradition. Following suit with Reed's previous recordings, the music of this CD continues the ever evolving quest for perfection of musical expression through the guitar. In addition to the inspiring guitar performances and genre defying
compositions of Reed, is the very significant and artistically complementary contribution of virtuoso tenor saxophonist Greg Koltyk. Appearing once again with consistently covetable performances are: George Wietecha (drums), Celeste Reed (flute), and Raymond Roberts (vocals on two of the ten tracks).
