Who said you'll never hear surf music again? It's all over the place in movie sound tracks, TV shows, commercials, and on the radio. Jetty Subject To High Surf represents the reunion of the Vara-Tones -- back to make their latest contribution to this often overlooked but classic sector of American music. This CD, their first full length album, contains a varied set of new surf tunes featuring three original members -- guitarist Bill Epps, drummer Rick Campbell and bassist Gary Sunda -- as well as Terry Zimmerman, bass player from '63 to '65. Four of the songs on tha album ("Vara-Tone Stomp", "Rendezvous Run", "Sunset At The Wedge", "Groo-V-Chicken") are originals which were actually written in the '60s but never recorded (or remembered!) until now. Jetty Subject To High Surf also contains, as a bonus track, the Vara-Tones' 1964 single "Repeto", which has been included on several surf music compilations and featured on college radio stations around the country. Now, with this CD - surf's up...again!
