Nocturne

Ozone Quartet

Sold through Guitar Nine thru 2012

Raleigh, North Carolina's Ozone Quartet up the ante on their second release, Nocturne, offering more intricate arrangements full of twisted, syncopated rhythms underscored by blazing guitar notes and graceful electric violin -- coming off like Jean-Luc Ponty fronting King Crimson. Violinist Hollis Brown lays down the main melodic motifs and leaves plenty of musical space for Wayne Leechford's Chapman stick work and Kenny Thompson's tasteful guitar runs. Let's not forget percussionist/drummer Francis Dyer, who keeps things interesting with his arsenal of exotic drums. Check this group out if you love progressive rock and fusion.
