This album was a gold album for Boyd and CBS when first released in 1986. The reissue features new album graphics. Persona showcases stellar guests such as guitarist David Gilmour (electric guitar on three tracks), cellist Yo-Yo Ma and guitarist Eric Clapton (electric guitar on "Labyrinth'), and still, Boyd is able to display her exceptional sensitivity and her impressive sense of dedication on her classical guitar.
