Phoenix Rising

Guitarist Ken Hatfield on his jazz CD Phoenix Rising, "The opportunity to compose for some of my favorite musicians combined with the prospect of perforning and recording with them made this CD project irresistible for me. The extraordinary rhythm section is built around bassist Hans Glawischnig, whose abilities as a soloist and accompanist have few rivals, and master drummer Duduka da Fonseca. Guests include pianist Dom Salvador (one of New York's best kept secrets), a great soloist and one who also instinctively knows how to accompany; Billy Drewes, a saxophonist who has an original approach and a beautiful, personal sound, and trumpet player Claudio Roditi, whose playing exemplifies the essence of what the music on this CD is about. I hope that you find the experience of listening to this music as rewarding as we did creating it."
