Over The Abyss is the all-instrumental, heavy guitar laden CD from Keith Miller, which follows down the instrumental rock/metal path laid out by his previous CDs, "Chalk" and "Groove Train". The nimble fingered guitarist seldom indulges to excess, but manages to offer plenty of intricate licks, ascending fret runs and pedal-to-the-metal crunch on the ten instrumental cuts. Minnesota-based guitarist Miller is receiving a heap of well earned praise for his his high-powered, self-produced CDs. Comparisons to Joe Satriani, Metallica and the Galactic Cowboys aside, with the release of "Groove Train" (2003), Chalk (2004), and now, Over The Abyss, Miller is carving out a musical sonagram all his own. Pulling together a wealth of metal-influenced and hard rock guitar guitar sounds, Miller wrote, recorded and mixed all the sounds on his three CDs, while demonstrating impressive guitar skills -as well as his knack for writing and recording memorable tunes.
