Curtis is back with the follow up to his self-titled debut, entitled Room 137. Filled top to bottom with rock instrumentals, the 11 track CD features Curtis' trio (rounded out by Scott Shepherd on drums and Don Mouck on bass) slinking and slamming and funkin' up the joint while burnin' down the house. Room 137 is nothing if not energetic, and up tempo tunes such as "Happy, Hungry And Horny", "Carrots And Grapes" and the title track deliver the goods with a guitar style marked by an absence of cliches. Fans of Curtis' debut will be the first in line for this release, but those new to the California guitarist's music need to tune in and pay attention as well.
