Tourist In Paradise
The Story
"Tourist In Paradise" stands as one of the Rippingtons top albums, as guitarist Russ Freeman shows his compositional and arrangement talents on the nine instrumentals. The first three cuts feature a bit of scat vocals by Carl Anderson, but Freeman's overdriven guitar and keyboard prowess are center stage, as is Brandon Fields' alto sax. Every cut is upbeat and memorable and you even get the instrumental Al Green cover "Let's Stay Together". It's easy to hear why "Tourist In Paradise" rocketed the Rippingtons and Freeman to the top of the Smooth Jazz playlists.
