New Columns

February's guest columnists are ready to share their knowledge, and cover topics on studio recording, technique, and the music business. We've got eleven fresh articles altogether - seven returning columnists and four first timers. Canadian guitarist David Martone is back with another article entitled "Zone Recording: More Project Drum Goodies". Neo-classical guitarist Tom Hess contributes his worthwhile piece called "Effective Practice Strategies". Robert Walker returns from a hiatus to pen "Ten Rules To Chase The Audience Away". Indie marketing and promotions expert Tim Sweeney has contributed an article entitled "Include Vs. Exclude". British guitarist Guy Pople is back with "Harmonic Alchemy: The Eldritch Art Of Chord Substitutions". Guitarist Patrick DeCoste has written another interesting column entitled "The Sounds Of Silence". First time contributors include guitarist Scott Allen with "Rehearsals And Practicing", Brazil's Mr. Moe with "Diabolic Twins", guitarist Adam Moore with his piece "Permutation: Thinking Backwards And Inside-Out", and fusion guitarist Kevin M. Buck, who has written "Organizing Musical Information". Finally, music industry guru Christopher Knab returns with "What A Record Label Should Know About Music Retailers".
