Future plans/projects

Worked on over 1000 songs, by over 100 different artists. Recently worked with Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. The main recorder is now the Tascam/Timeline MX2424 with various A/D conversion including Mytek, Benchmark, and Crane Song. Although we are currently ProTools compatible, we are looking to add a ProTools set up as well. We installed a great sounding Sound Workshop Series 30 Console (similiar to a transformerless API or an Otari). We combine that with Neve, API, Pendulum, Manley, Crane Song, etc. preamps, compressors, and EQ's for pristine audio (classical/jazz ensemble) or colorful sounds with lots of iron in the path for rock and pop. We are also now mixing to a cherry Ampex ATR 1/4" @ 15 or 30 ips. Looking to freelance on more projects around Florida and southeast US. Working as consultant to other engineers and commercial studios all over the US. I am a contributing writer to Tape Op magazine. I plan on doing several feature interviews for Tape Op by the end of the year.

Additional notes

We've added a "B" room with a lower cost per day, but with more square footage than the "A" room, which will now primarily become the high end mixing, mastering, and overdub suite. Gear from the A room is transportable to the larger B room to accomodate just about any project. Atlas is what we call a "hybrid" studio. We are neither exclusively "Analog" or "Digital". We use the editing and automation ability of the DAW, with a large selection of Class A, tube and discrete front end, and then mix to tape. We have also expanded into pro audio sales in late 2000 with 45 high end lines to date. We only sell product that we believe in and use as engineers. See us at http://www.atlasproaudio.com
