Before his 2003 CD "Superstar" and before Powell Young's "2065 Flying Fingers", Chinese guitarist Yanliang Lee recorded and released Ski On Mars, doing all the work himself before CNAV picked it up for release. Like "Superstar", Lee goes heavily into jungle beats and other contemporary arrangements, leaving room for spacey riffs and licks, and frequent blasts of heated soloing. The liner notes are almost completely in Chinese, so information is scarce, but you can amaze your friends with your own take on what's happening on this all instrumental release (a few sparse vocal samples can be heard dotting the sonic landscape). The sound clips will have to suffice, so give Yanliang Lee and his limber digits a listen.
