Wardance, featuring guitarist Tom Cavanagh, represents a powerful, passionate synthesis of an eclectic range of influences and experiences. Their debut CD, the record was released in 1995 and the songs reflect a knack for both hook and melody, ranging from the riff-laden rockers to the hypnotic spiritual ballads. In a testament to the definition of "presence", lead singer Jim Reece delivers riveting vocals straight from the gut which emanate first from the heart. With a combination of melodic affinity and technical wizardry, Cavanagh unites his eclectic musical knowledge with a deep and abiding love for the music of The Beatles, and a list of torch-bearing guitarists which includes John McLaughlin, Jimi Hendrix, Steve Vai and many others. Cavanagh's instinctive ear for placement is acutely developed and conveys the depth of his inner most involvement with the music.
