Hottest Unknown Guitarists features 10 compelling instrumental tracks by 10 different guitarists, each with their own style and substance, from the hard-edged to the otherworldly, and from the progressive to the hyperactively schizophrenic. The collection was produced by Richard James of JSR Records, who also contributed one track ("Moon Dust"), a heavy, chops-happy number featuring James' killer vibrato. Hottest Unknown Guitarists also includes a knuckle-busting track by instrumental wizard Joy Basu ("Seven Below Stress") and dazzling forays by Scott Van Zen ("The Fast Lane") and Robby Lochner ("Vigor Of Expression"). A potent instrumental extravaganza. Also features guitarist Guthrie Govan on "Wonderful Slippery Thing".
