Troy Stetina, a guitarist who blends flawless playing with a modern rock attitude, has released Exottica, ten tracks of instrumental music that will leave you stunned and uplifted. The CD is chock-full of melodic hooks, crazy guitar antics, mind-altering solos, intense control, wild articulation, edge-of-your-seat speed and tight song structures. Exottica ranges across stylistic boundaries, from hard-driving rock 'n roll ("Freakshow") and heavy grooves with memorable pop hooks ("Divination") to experimental hip-hop/metal fusion (title track) and "dance"-metal ("Mambo This"). From shred that will knock your teeth out ("One Good Kick") to cutting-edge progressive rock ("My Funk"), industrial-tinged metal ("Firewalker"), alternative groove bliss ("Rave") and shredded power pop ("Sunrise"), Exottica is truly a far-reaching amalgam. Yet throughout this sonic journey, the style remains solidly "Troy".
