Session guitarist. Live sideman. Solo artist. Songwriter. Band member. Guitar instructor. Travis Henson has touched on all of these titles since moving to Nashville, TN in the mid-'90s. An early meeting with Poison frontman, Bret Michaels, led to Travis playing on three of Bret's solo albums and two movie soundtracks for Bret's production company. Stints with local bands Forty Thieves, Whirlybird and OnlyMoses followed. Soon, artists were asking Travis to play on their albums and write songs with them. He's performed live with Kevin Sharp, Mitch Malloy, and Johnny Vance (Skin&Bones), to name just a few. In 2006, Travis released Speechless, an instrumental guitar album that showcased his inspired playing, solid songwriting and strong melodic hooks. As David Hungate, legendary bassist for Toto and LA/Nashville session ace, remarks, "Speechless is a great CD. I was knocked out by the playing and the writing. It's one of my favorite contemporary instrumental albums and I look forward to your next record."
