Guitarist Tony Palkovic showcases his talent as a jazz guitarist/composer on his new album, Esoteric. The ten tracks on this album are primarily electric jazz/fusion pieces, along with two shorter acoustic numbers. The CD also features guest musicians such as keyboardist Patrick Moraz (Refugee, Yes, The Moody Blues) and sax man Krys Mach (best known for his work with Level 42). Palkovic is a strong guitarist, offering both sinewy improvisations and tasty harmonic/rhythmic interplay with the sax and synth solo sections. Esoteric introduces Palkovic to a wider jazz audience for the first time - it's worth a close listen.
