Tim Cummiskey, jazz guitar instructor at Ohio State University, brings together Chris Berg on bass and Jim Rupp on drums for his debut album, Alone Together. This disc features many fine standards, like the title tune, "You Stepped Out of a Dream", "How Deep Is The Ocean" and "Emily", while including some swinging with "Jeannine", and an incredibly beautiful version of "Estate'". Accompanying the trio is special guest Chad Eby on tenor saxophone. Robert Silverstein writes in 20th Century Guitar (August 2001), "Tim has that all-important package of chops, taste and intelligence that makes Alone Together a delight to listen to." Just Jazz Guitar (May 2001) added, "A collaboration of music and talent with inventive single line improvisation, and deep rich harmonic chordal concepts."
