Encyclopedia Of The Insane -- A collection of musical works released in the late 1900s by the group Surgeon, comprised of Michael Harris (guitar), Len Jarrell (vocals), Matt Thompson (drums) and James Martin (bass), after which the four members were committed to an "asylum for the mentally unstable." Subsequent sales of the album allowed them to buy their way out of the institution and be thrown back into society. Encyclopedia Of The Insane tells the story of these extremely deranged individuals. In the words of Kevin White at Harder Beat, "...a full frontal assault on the senses, crushing your eardrums with fist-pumping beats and finger-grinding axework..."
