The Infinite Steve Vai: An Anthology

Jon Wiederhorn writes in the liner notes, "A stellar stylist with a gift for playing rock, blues, jazz, world, experimental and shredding metal music, Steve Vai is one of the few contemporary players whose prowess is matched only by his passion. His prismic chord fragments, deft solo runs and unusual arrangements illuminate his offbeat and futuristic ideas, while his stirring vibrato, aching string bends and sensual orchestration reveal the sensitivity and pathos of a man trying to understand love and spirituality. As The Infinite Steve Vai: An Anthology demonstrates, after 20 years, Steve Vai is still at the top of his game. Not only does his playing continue to smoke nearly everyone else's on the scene, his ideas become more creative with time, and every project he embarks upon buzzes with a new energy and excitement. Only a master like Vai can conquer the limitations of the guitar and turn it from a mere six stringed instrument into an incredibly versatile and limitless voice of human expression. In Vai's hands, the future knows no boundaries."
