Guitars And Christmas Trees is an upbeat, rocking guitar driven instrumental Christmas CD. The songs are guitarist Steve Laputa's own versions of well-known Christmas tunes. All are instrumental with the exception of "Run Rudolph Run", which adds guest vocalist Linda Greenwood. All drums were performed by Kurt Wiesand. Laputa is a guitar player based out of Rockford, Illinois who has been playing for many years (mainly in Illinois, but also has performed around the Midwest, Florida and Las Vegas). He has also performed with several acts that have received local music awards. His style is mainly classic, blues-based rock but occasionally incorporates elements of pure blues and country.
