Little Misunderstood

Sheryl Bailey
Sold through Guitar Nine thru 2012

Little Misunderstood is New York guitarist Sheryl Bailey's terrific 1995 fusion release featuring eight original eclectic electric compositions and reinterpretations of Miles Davis' "Caravan" and "Nardis". Described by Adam Levy in Guitar Player magazine as having, "...one of the warmest and most compelling tones of her generation," Bailey puts her talent to good use, venturing beyond the predictable patterns of guitar-fueled jazz. Backed by a stellar outfit pounding out the sumptuous melodies behind her, Bailey fires off high-powered lines on songs like "Honk", "Ood Oov" and "Early Stages". Little Misunderstood is both strong and accessible, and deserves consideration by all fusion fans.
