Geoff Tarulli writes in the liner notes about Scott Tarulli's September In Boston: Live, "The Abbey Lounge Is a dive - a true term of affection despite its normal connotation - and the worn down bar always harbors at least a few of the regulars; professional drinkers who usually look annoyed whenever they see people dragging their equipment throught the front door. But the staff there is friendly. A decent crowd of about 30 fans came out to the show to hear the new stuff. Scott was trying out some newer, darker material that night, and a cramped, beer-soaked club seemed like the perfect place. After a crazy summer of playing out and teaching at Berklee, Scott (and band) was ready for some new material in a scaled back place. This album is the end product of two and a half sets played that night, consisting of four songs from Scott's recent album "Transitions" and four of the new tunes. What you will hear is what music should be - stripped down, simply recorded and live. Enjoy!"
