Rick McKown has been a professional guitarist, composer, and music educator for over thirty years. He is a graduate of the Musician's Institute (GIT) in Hollywood, CA. He currently divides his time between working in his own Precipice Studio and teaching a full roster of students at Costello Music in the famed House of Guitars in Rochester, NY. Rick's latest CD, Behind The Curtain, has been a very long time coming. As he says, "It's basically the album I meant to make twenty years ago." When asked what took so long, Rick replied, "Life doesn't always turn out the way you plan. Things happen. You get knocked off your path. But, to quote Roy Hobbs from the movie "The Natural", 'My mind was always on the game. So I figured... to give it another try.'"
