Los Angeles area guitarist Rick Brannon's solo CD for 2007, entitled Angels Highway, blends six instrumental hard rock cuts with four vocal tracks. Brannon is an accomplished guitarist with his compositions being used for Fox Sports and performances for HBO movies. Angels Highway has been 6 years in the making and is Brannon's fifth CD release. Contributors include Dean Lopes on drums, Phillip Bynoe on bass, Robert Ware on bass and Scott Weltner on drums, among others. Brannon gets creative on this release, using thick glass slides, Phillips screwdrivers, home made talk boxes and the incredible Boomerang pedal to get his sounds, as well as a good variety of guitars, amp heads and cabinets. For Texas-style bluesy guitar wrapped into modern heavy songs, with harmony vocals along with instrumental tracks, check out Angels Highway.
