Chasing The Beat

With his CD Chasing The Beat, German guitarist Peter Autschbach clearly has made a beeline for the circle of international jazz/rock guitarists. Autschbach surprises with polished, complicated jazz compositions, and his music is affected by the blues while not leaving out funk. Backed by crack musicians such as Mark Joggerst on keyboards, Mario Bruninghaus on drums and Ralf Metz on bass, Autschbach is freed to deliver imaginative solos peppered with contorted roller-coaster runs and lines remeniscent of Pat Metheny, Mike Stern or John Scofield.
