Mortimer Nelson's approach to music is stylistic and yet very adventurous. His first-rate techniques make him a unique guitarist and creator of atmosphere. The compositions for this 2010 CD, Slow Times, are for acoustic guitar. They are meant to be slow and quiet, with space for the sound of the vibrating steel and wood to breathe (or 'bloom'). Yet the music moves forward, avoiding repetitive loops and modal drone. There are no alternate tunings. Highlights include "Vigil", "Tea Leaves", "Clair De Lune" and "Another Time". Enjoy.
