Indiana-based acoustic guitarist Matthew Kennedy's CD Azure Play feaures ten steel-string guitar compositions, with backing instrumentation provided by Gene Ort. The all instrumental release captures Kennedy's experiences, thoughts and moods and transforms them (via fingers on steel and wood) into music. As Kennedy explains, "The compositions on Azure Play represent the journeys of my life, most of which take me no farther than my home. Images of places I have traveled and feelings I have experienced are captured in my mind's eye, and are then transformed into audible snapshots that flow through my music. It is my wish that you will enjoy this auditory photo album."
