Obsession is Lars Eric Mattsson's guitar-heavy vocal project - a hard rock offering pairing him with vocalist Bjorn Lodin on a dozen tracks. Obsession is Mattsson's finest hour, with his best guitar playing ever, as well as some of his better compositions. The guitar lines are tight and superbly clean, yet daring at times - witness the unexpected instrumental ending of "And The Road Goes On", the clean solos of "Just A Leo", and the great solo in "Messenger". Obsession will certainly appeal to fans of Mattsson's classic metal/hard rock style, updated for the late '90s.
