Escape

With smooth and slick mastery of the acoustic guitar, Escape is the hard work of a consummate professional. Almost entirely instrumental. Mitchell relies on his strumming ability to create success. Soft and jazzy, the songs are introspective, but never boring. In fact the playing is fiery where it needs to be and restrained where it should be. Don't doubt his chops, either. Check out the almost medieval-sounding "Tears of a Woman," or the beautiful "The Garden," with its nice chordal passsages leading to brief, furious flurries of notes.
