Don't Look So Serious is the incredible 1994 debut of the progressive instrumental rock sound of the Jon Finn Group, led by guitarist Jon Finn. None other than Steve Morse has described Finn's music with the quote, "Steamiest guitar licks this side of Joe Satriani." Appropriately, the band pays a light hearted tribute to Morse' Dixie Dregs on "Bus Hair". The other fourteen songs on this jam-packed CD display Finn's instrumental prowess, his flair for composition and a healthy sense of humor. Finally available after years of being out of print (originally issued on the defunct Legato label) Don't Look So Serious is a great addition to the discriminating instrumental fan's collection.
