Jimmy Dillon's Rituals CD is made up of all original material written by Jimmy. His choice of back-up musicians is impeccable, with appearances by The Memphis Horns, Ozzie Ahlers on keyboards (Van Morrison, Jerry Garcia), several of Robert Cray's band (Kevin Hayes on drums, Jim Pugh on organ) and Kevin Russell on guitar (707, Taxxi, Phantom-Rocker-Slick). Jimmy's range of material is exceptional, running from driving blues-rock like "Mighty Long Road" and "Trouble" to the lost-love ballad "Louisiana Rain". Along the way, the haunting strains of the instrumental title track, with its ethereal acoustic guitar riffs, lead into the dark and ominous traditional sound of stunning bottleneck technique on the National steel guitar-driven "Dangerous Man".
