Solar Voices

With their debut album, Solar Voices, Inner Resonance has made a strong emergence into the progressive rock arena. This first release, which was self-produced and recorded in guitarist Jeffrey Ryan Smoots' digital home-studio, demonstrates a level of musicianship and maturity rarely heard on a first effort. Borrowing from a rich tradition of compelling and artistically inventive progressive groups, Solar Voices finds its own voice which challenges the listener in one moment and invites in the next. Peter Orullian and Jeffrey Ryan Smoots are both practiced musicians who have been patient in the creation of Solar Voices to set a notable precedent for future work. The album includes songs that are traditionally "epic" in such titles as "One More Summer" and "The Drum", both of which rise and fall with dynamic shifts and work closely off the musical premise of through-composition. Both are also characterized by strong instrumental sections and soaring vocals. Listeners will hear influences from such time tested acts as Dream Theater, Rush, and Queensryche, but the sound is uniquely Inner Resonance, and is certain to stake a strong claim within the genre.
