Ram's Rock, released by the New York progressive metal band, Heavy Reign, is a superb instrumental album, leaning towards neo-classical in it's approach, particularly in the interplay between stellar guitarist Dan Shimmyo and keyboardist Ram. Shimmyo and Ram trade off solos on a number of cuts, evoking Malmsteen and Johansson in early Rising Force. Ram's Rock has many excellent compositions; most notable are "Mirage" and "BCAD."
