Shadows Of The Past

German fusion guitarist Haymo Doerk talks about the music on his CD Shadows Of The Past, "About seven years ago, I started recording the material on this CD. By the time it was done, recording technology had developed so radically that I felt I could not publish the songs in the shape they were then, although I liked most of it. Several years passed before I realized that, in order to be able to concentrate on new material and new songs, I first had to finish this project. It took me another year of hard work to remix these recordings in order to make them sound good enough to my ears to venture on publishing them. So this is the first musical production I have done all by myself - helped only by Dennis "The Menace", whose contribution can be heard at the very beginning of the CD - and up to now there has been no other project I have been involved in which comes more deeply from my heart! Apart from that, it helped me to get rid of some of those "shadows" of the past..."
