On It's About Time, the first solo disc from Greg Chaisson, the Badlands bassist goes back to his roots and digs deep into a set of 12 outstanding killer blues/rock heavy guitar tracks with a '70s power trio vibe. The CD finds Chaisson paying tribute to his musical roots and heroes of the '70s, as well as handling lead vocals with a raw, gutsy, bluesy authority. Complete with Eric Singer (Badlands, KISS) on drums and Jim McMellon on guitar (an awesome, rippin' axeslinger who sounds like Snuffy Walden's twin brother) the power trio get down to serious business on a solid set of hard-assed heavy blues/rock riffage that will trip your brain and kick your ass. As a special added bonus, Rob LaMothe (ex-Riverdogs) lends his awesome lead vocal power on "The River" (an amazingly beautiful track written for, and dedicated to, Ray Gillen.
